India is one of the biggest agriculture economy with low level of mechanization because of variables like affordability and accessibility of costly machinery, being an obstruction to the utilization of such innovations.
Need
The need for a Centre of Excellence for Farm Mechanization Skills in India is driven by several factors. The modernization of agriculture calls for skilled individuals who can effectively operate and maintain farm machinery. Such a centre would bridge the existing skill gap by providing specialized training to meet the demands of a changing agricultural landscape. The centre would also facilitate the adoption of advanced technologies, address labour shortages, promote rural development and livelihoods, and foster sustainable agriculture by promoting eco-friendly practices.
